Things to see.....

History, heritage & Henry Lawson in Gulgong - gold rush historyA visit to Gulgong is an ideal way to enjoy the excitement of Australia's gold rush history and stroll through a streetscape that has changed little since Henry Lawson's time. With settlement dating back to the 1820's and the impact of the gold rush of the 1870's still preserved ... there's hours of simple pleasure just outside The Stable's gate.

Gulgong lists 170 sites of historical interest including the unique Henry Lawson Centre, The Prince of Wales Opera House (1871), the Reedy Creek Inn (1851) and the acclaimed Gulgong Pioneer Museum (1873). Gulgong enjoys both National Trust and Heritage Council classification.

Gulgong also offers the best in local art, craft, pottery and antiques as well as piping hot coffee, fresh baked country fare or a cold draught refreshment.

Other activities that can be arranged include: Golf; tennis; bowls; walking; swimming; squash; cycling; horse riding; fishing; gliding; cricket; football; horse racing; guided day tours of wineries; aboriginal sites, farming properties and villages to explore.

The truth is.............

you could spend a week in Gulgong and hardly scratch the surface.
