CA18 det Conversion Page
Well I have finally finished the conversion on my 1200 coupe. Took me just on 6 weeks to get it all in and sorted. Then another  6 weeks to rebuild motor ect. I am very happy with power and drivability. This page will take a while to load but Im sure its worth the wait.

Here is the gearbox mount a bit of 45x45 angle with  a few holes. Gearbox is a Skyline turbo 5 speed with CA18 bellhousing.

Big isn't it who said you couldn't fit a 3" exhaust  on a 1200 :-)

Out with Old A14 1509cc ohv In with the new Ca18 1800cc twin cam Fuel Injected  Turbo Charged Intercooled 4cylinder 130kw standard in a 740kg car :) 800kg now with all the extra stuff that's with full fuel tank.

Here is a pic of motor buy itself

Hmm whats this a 3" dump took me 6 hrs to handmake the pipe off the turbo. Is large in comparison to standard turbo dump. The rest         of exhaust is 3" all the way.

The new engine mounts just cut old ones out on  angle and welded new plates with slots for new  rubber engine mounts off the CA18.

Sits nicely in there :)Tight fit but looks great.

A bit of an action shot :-) cutting out old mounts to make way for new ones.

Nicely painted front crossmember with new mounts.

Heaps of room up front for twin thermo's the radiator is a new VN V8 3row so it should keep cool. Modified to suit buy MRC.

K&N air filter keeps all the bad stuff out and flows heaps .

Cold air intake feed's fresh air into bottom of  K&N filter.

Skyline turbo intercooler not very large but very efficient. Tanks made buy MRC Mudgee Radiator Center. They do excellent work if your after anything out of the ordinary Email them.

Microtech MT8 computer does sequential firing ect.Quite cheap in comparison to a lot of other computers I have had no problems with it so far.
Factory module inside cabin to keep it cool and clean very $$$ to replace.
Surge tank I made myself with welding done buy MRC. Has Holley red feeding into it then Porsche high pressure high volume EFI pump feeding the good juice to engine. Was a very tight squeeze.

Here is new Bonnet scoop only cost $60 from my friendly nissan parts dealer. Its off a nissan turbo diesel patrol should blow cool air into turbo. Also shows new rims 14x6 CSA hornets with 195/60/14 Ggrids.

Intercooler fits nicely didn't have to modify much to make it fit. Grill had to modified to clear intercooler plumbing.
